betweentwofernsIt's official: President Obama just gave the most awkward interview of his entire career. Obama appeared on Zach Galifianakis' show "Between Two Ferns" and I couldn't believe how unprofessional Zach was about the whole thing! I mean, just look at the guy's posture. You're with the PRESIDENT, man. SIT UP and quit playing with your hair! A little R-S-P-E-C-T, please. What's that?

Oh. My editor has just informed me that this was all just a joke. Well geez, how was I supposed to know? She also says it's called "Between Two Ferns" because -- oh never mind. Now I'm just embarrassed. Here are the best parts of this interview.

This title. At least they didn't spell it "Barraco Barner" and call him the president of the UK.

Zach mentions "Ambassador Rodman" and asks if the US is planning to send "Hulk Hogan to Assyria" or should they send Tonya Harding instead? Also: "What should we do about North Ikea?"

Zach asks the president, "What is it like to be the last black president?" Obama replies, "Seriously? What's it like for this to be the last time you ever TALK to a president?" When Obama goes on to insult the third Hangover movie and insists that Bradley Cooper pretty much carried all three Hangover movies, Zach makes this face.

That's because he's formulating this comeback insult: "Is it going to suck when you're no longer president and people stop letting you win at basketball?" "How does it feel having a three-inch vertical?" the President slams back. "It's a three-inch horizontal," Zach smugly informs the leader of the free world. "So ..."

At this point all a guy can do is call the leader of the free world a nerd. "Do you think a woman like Michelle would marry a nerd?" Obama asks. "Why don't you ask her if she would marry a nerd."

"Could I?"

"No. I'm not going to let you anywhere near her."

Next comes an obscure tech joke: "Why would you get the guy who created the Zune to make your website?" WTF is Zune? That Microsoft music player no one liked. Kurt Delbene was not really in charge of that when he was heading Microsoft -- he's no more responsible for Zune than Al Gore is responsible for creating the Internet.

Finally, Zach gave Obama the floor to talk about the Affordable Care Act and remind the young people to sign up for a health plan.

"Is this what they mean by drones?"

Zach shows Obama his "preexisting condition," probably caused by spider bites.

Obama presses that big, red button on the table (because that's what presidents get to do) and the backdrop falls, revealing that Zach has been filming their interview -- and every interview in the series -- in the diplomacy room of the White House.

Now Zach has to find a new location for his show.

Guess who got the last laugh? White House Senior Communications Adviser Tara McGuinness did.

Do you think this is an effective way to raise awareness of HealthCare.gov to younger people?
