We're in tech! Which means the cast and crew are in serious rehearsal mode for Bombshell. They're all in a gorgeous theater now in Boston days before previews begin. Tensions are running high. "We're in the middle of war," one of the chorus members tells Karen. But is that any reason to misbehave?

Oh it's not Karen. She's busy working. It's everyone else.

Okay, so in one corner of the world we have Dev, growing clingy while Karen is in Boston. She doesn't really want him to join her there because she's really busy with rehearsals and oh yeah, SHE HAS A ROOMMATE. So not a good time to visit, Dev.

But Dev needs some love because work is making him feel all insecure. Next best thing? His reporter friend RJ, who just happens to show up with a bottle and a willing smile. They kiss and Dev almost gives in -- but just can't pull the trigger. I mean -- he remains faithful despite the temptress' wiles.

And naturally, what does a man do when his girlfriend is blowing him off because of work and he almost cheats on her? Proposes. Most awk proposal EVER. "Hello, will you marry me?" "Um, I'm in tech." All kinds of smooth going on here.

I can almost hear Elton John singing "Can you feel the love tonight?" When are these two going to finally break up?!?

Okay, so that's dysfunctional couple number one. Dysfunctional couple number two: Ivy and Derek. Rebecca has caught on that her biggest rival is Ivy, not Karen, who is apparently easily controlled. Rebecca is also feeling so insecure because she knows everyone thinks "she's a joke."  She needs Derek to rescue her! So she dolls herself up as Marilyn to do her own take on the classic "Happy Birthday" song (It's Derek's birthday) and it totally seduces Derek. They're shaggin in her dressing room in no time -- and Ivy knows all about it.

Shoulda seen this coming. I was so hopeful about Ivy and Derek, but obviously that was just naive of me. Hello, man in power. Why wouldn't this happen?

And then, just because why the hell not -- Ivy and Dev meet cute at a bar. Huh, glancing at my watch I see it's sex o'clock for these two. I mean, long-term they're a disaster, but one night stand? Might as well.

Meanwhile, Julia (who has already had her turn as Show Cheater) is desperately trying to uphold the fragile truce in her family life when Michael gets called back into the show. NO! She puts on a brave performance of pretending threatening she'll quit if they bring him back on. Finally, Frank mans up and tells her he can handle it -- and he trusts her. I hope she's worthy of that trust!

Okay, so just a couple of things. One -- why is Ellis aligning himself with Ivy? What's in it for him? Is it just because she is -- was -- sleeping with Derek? Or can he sniff out the top talent?

Also, how lovely is Sam's family? I want them to adopt me. I want in on those Sunday dinners.

Oh yeah, here's Uma singing "Happy Birthday Mr. Director." She's just like Marilyn Monroe except with a completely different voice, face and body.

Who will replace Rebecca when Ellis finally puts peanuts in her smoothie?
