So here's a fun story. Long ago when I worked for another company I found out that my male colleague, who was hired after I was and did not have more experience and certainly wasn't pulling off the same quality or quantity of work I was, made about $15K more a year than I did. What did I do? I marched right into my boss' office and grabbed him by the balls and made him give me a raise, that's what!
I made up that part about the balls. But the rest is for real. And I got that raise. Eventually I was promoted over the guy, too. So this is all to say -- no one is just going to give it to you ladies. You earn it, and then you demand it.
