Thanks to the new video series Real Moms of CafeMom, we're all getting a peek into the lives of CafeMom members. First up is Cody, who came up with a fantastic way for kids to stow away all their toys. She pretty much took the phrase "necessity is the mother of invention" and sewed it up into these adorable, monster-shaped hanging storage bags called Mon-Stores.
In the video you'll see they're wildly imaginative and fun. It's a brilliant idea that started out as a simple storage solution in her own home and blossomed into a cottage industry. And then Cody pushed the idea into two inspired projects -- one that's just in time for Autism Awareness Month.

I love how Cody connected with other crafting moms and found her way to Alpacas for Autism. And that puzzle fabric she's using for the special Autism Awareness Mon-Stores is amazing, isn't it? The colors are great and of course there's that key symbol to the autism community, the puzzle piece. And Cody's crafting center Daft Crafts looks like such a happy place where people can meet, share, and learn from each other.
If you're looking for other creative ways to support autism research this month there are hundreds of small, local fundraisers going on around the country. New Story in Pennsylvania is selling blue colored light bulbs, just for one example! And you can find a walkathon for Autism Speaks near you online.
