It's been almost two years since Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom separated: August 26, 2013, for those of us keeping track. Sources confirmed with TMZ that on Friday they made the split official. Odom and Kardashian signed their divorce papers.
For a while there it seemed like Khloe and Lamar weren't fully committed to getting un-committed to each other. Khloe didn't file for divorce until December of that same year. And then they let their case flounder for months while they occasionally discussed reconciliation.
Meanwhile, Khloe started dating rapper French Montana. Had she already moved on? Maybe, except that relationship didn't really take. Maybe she wasn't ready for a new man, or maybe she was still holding out hope for Odom. It seemed sometimes like she was conflicted.
For his part, as recently as May Lamar was saying he didn't want to divorce "my girl."

Ultimately Khloe and Lamar did not reconcile. Most recently Khloe has been seeing basketball player James Harden. That may have been the new impetus that got the two of them to finally sign those papers.
"Lamar was really hurt and felt like Khloe had no respect for him after she was out in public with James Harden," a source told Us magazine. "He just kept seeing her with different guys and that was it for him. French was at least a relationship but here she was with another guy."
That other guy could turn into a real relationship. We'll have to wait and see. But regardless, it's bittersweet. Two people who loved each other were unable to make their relationship work -- not for lack of trying. At least now they both have the clarity they need to move on.
