patricia navidadImagine the worst thing that could happen to you while you're performing on live television. What would you do? You have to see how Mexican singer Patricia Navidad responded when her menstrual pad fell out while she was singing on live TV.

First of all, she did not die of shame right there on the spot. She didn't faint, or cry, or run off the stage never to be seen in public ever again. There she is, singing "Viva Mexico" while rocking a blue minidress, and when the pad falls out she keeps on singing because the show must go on. After all, it's just a wad of paper, NBD!

Meanwhile the pad hung out there on stage like a lost backup singer.

Viva Mexico verdad!

Anyway, naturally people noticed, and some guys were screeching high-pitched screams on social media because when it comes to any hint of menstruation, they CANNOT.

But Navidad is having none of it. She's a grown-ass woman. It's not for nothing that she's been alive as a female on planet Earth for 42 years. She told the shamers what's what via Twitter.

Dicen que una hombre que trata a la mujer como princesa, ha sido educado por una reina, los que agreden y ofenden, quien los educo??

Buzzfeed's translation of this is: "They say that a man who treats a woman like a princess was raised by a queen, those who attack, who raised you?" She also tweeted that she has nothing to be ashamed of.

Navidad did not stop there. Girlfriend was on a roll. She started lobbing out menstruation jokes as fast as she could.

"Too bad all the men that are making fun of this weren’t there, because if it is what they say it was I would’ve loved to have smeared it on their face."

"I DON'T NEED WINGS TO FLY, I HAVE IMAGINATION AND THANKS TO GOD I HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR."

"I’M NOT A BOXER, I’M A WARRIOR, AND I NEVER THROW IN THE TOWEL, UNLESS I DON’T NEED IT ANYMORE."

That last one is a pun on the Spanish for pad, which is the same as the word for towel. Jajajajajaja, Navidad, good one!

Way to take back her power. Menstruating can be messy and inconvenient, but the way we treat it like the dark unspeakable arts of witchery is childish. You will not be turned into a toad for looking upon a woman's fallen pad. It will sap no man's virility.

It takes a real man to witness evidence that a woman is menstruating, inhale deeply, and say, YES, SHE IS A WOMAN AND I WILL BRING HER SOME CHOCOLATE. Will the real men please step forward? Thank you, Key and Peele.
