There was extra celebration at this year's annual Gay Pride Parade in New York City on Sunday. Just two days earlier the Supreme Court had ruled in favor of same-sex marriage as a national right. Everyone was feeling the love -- especially this cop, whose Magic Mike dance moves have turned him into an Internet sensation.
And yes, he is a genuine police officer, not a stripper in a costume.
The cop did a little bump and grind with an LGBT softball league player to the beat of Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough." That man's got some moves! And he has an adorable sense of humor. We don't know who he is, or whether he's gay or straight. But we do know we've come a long, long way.
There's a history of tension between the LGBT community and the police force. But younger generations of cops are becoming more tolerant -- not least because growing numbers are gay themselves.

And how could anyone present at the parade not feel stirred by the collective joy? This was an exciting moment in history, and these two dancers capture the feeling of this weekend perfectly. You'd have to be a real curmudgeon not to want to dance along.
All that aside, I think we can all agree we just love to see a man in a uniform getting down! He definitely earned that sticker and kiss from his dance partner.
