Remember when Walmart suddenly announced that Derick Dillard was leaving employment there for a mysterious "new position" elsewhere? Well, we finally know what that other position is. Dillard and wife Jill are starting their own family business.
On June 17 the Dillards quietly filed to incorporate their new venture, Dillard Family Ministries. "This is how the two plan on supporting themselves since Derick quit his job at Walmart," a source tells Radar Online. "This new ministry is their ‘Plan B’ now that it’s unlikely their reality show will be coming back."

Wow, their own ministry -- bold move for the young couple! They have a baby to support now, so it's risky. But then, the ministry could also give them flexibility for handling that elusive work-family balance.
Note that they filed as a non-profit. This is not a money-raking-in ministry, and they're not going Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker on us. (Not yet, anyway!) I'm not sure how the finances of the ministry business works, and how soon they'll have some kind of income. In this new age of technology it could be a ministry that lives online. But that's all we know about their plan so far.
Who knows, they may end up traveling to Nepal and starting a ministry there. That would be an exciting adventure, especially for baby Israel! I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
