At the Met Ball this year Beyoncé's spectacular body forced us all to take notice -- and not just because we could see so much of it. She looked slimmer and incredibly fit. Would you believe she lost 65 pounds before the ball? She insists it wasn't on a crash diet, either.
Beyoncé credits her new diet guru Marco Borge's "22-Day Revolution" plan for her transformation. And it doesn't sound easy. You heard the fried food fan went vegan, right? That was just the beginning. She also gave up alcohol and all processed foods.
The idea is that it takes 22 days to resent your food habits. Give it that much time, truly commit, and this all-natural vegan lifestyle will feel like your new normal.
The Borge diet's five core principles are:
1. Choose plant-based over processed
2. Eat three mindful meals a day
3. Aim for 80 per cent carbohydrates, ten per cent fat and ten per cent protein
4. Exercise for 30 minutes each day
5. Drink plenty of water
It's sounds pretty simple, actually. Well, except for that 80/10/10 ratio, which will take some planning. I'm surprised to see how many carbs you get to eat, but it's probably in the form of vegetables and whole grains, not donuts.
Naturally Borge has a book on his diet, The 22-Day Revolution The Plant-Based Program That Will Transform Your Body, Reset Your Habits, and Change Your Life, and Bey wrote the forward. "After having my daughter, I made a conscious effort to regain control of my health and my body," she says in the foreword. "But I didn’t want to do a crash diet. I was a mom now. I needed to change my ways and set an example for my child."

Did I mention Beyoncé lost 65 pounds on the diet? Is that too fast? I don't know ... but the idea is it's a lifestyle you adopt, not something you do until you lose the weight and then you can go back to macaroni and cheese and Ho Hos.
Bey says in addition to the sleek body, she's gained "increased energy, better sleep, weight-loss, improved digestion, clarity, and an incredibly positive feeling for my actions and the effects it would have on those around me and the environment." Oh well shucks, a diet that puts you in a good mood instead of making you hungry and grouchy can't be that bad, can it?
