No baby talk! That's the rule Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher live by on their weekly date night. When it's just the two of them, talk of baby Wyatt is strictly forbidden. As it should be!

Kunis revealed this on The Late Late Show With James Corden. She'is lucky to have her parents living down the street, so they can babysit while the couple goes out. But whether it's a double date or just the two of them, they're careful to keep the focus on each other.

If not just the two of us, we’ll go out on a double date or something, just to reconnect, and we make an effort to not talk about the baby. It’s hard. You catch yourself though ... but it’s important ... For that one hour, we try very hard to connect.

She's right -- it can be difficult to avoid talking about your kids. After all, that's one of the most important things you have in common. And it's not easy to find the time to have the meaningful conversations about your kids that all parents need. But there are so many benefits to it.

1. It brings you closer. When you stop talking about the kids and just focus on each other, the mood changes. It's like you're carving out this special space, just for the two of you. It feels more intimate -- way more intimate.

2. It's a form of meditation. Avoiding baby talk takes discipline and is an excellent mental exercise. You're training your mind to focus on one thing -- in this case, your spouse.

3. You'll make each other feel special. This happens any time you give someone your full attention for an extended period of time. It make them feel cherished.

4. You'll feel more connected even after the date. When you tune in to each other, you're picking up on each other's subtle cues, and you'll notice those more often. You're sharing feelings and ideas with each other, and those will stay with you long after your evening together.

5. It becomes addicting. It might feel awkward or scary in the beginning, if you haven't tried it in a while. But the more often you do it, the better it feels, until you really start craving that alone time when you're there just for each other.

6. It's sexy. Tuning into each other and shutting out such unsexy topics as The Baby can heat up your bedroom life as well. Unless you're making this very common mistake Kunis admits to: “I’ve thought about it (the baby during sex) … like, ‘I wonder if that’s her making that noise…’”

Oh Mila, we've all been there!

Do you ever carve out no-baby-talk time with your spouse?
