Twenty-three-year-old Shelby Swink of Memphis, Tennessee, was all set to marry her college sweetheart on November 1. But then, five days before the wedding, Swink's fiance told her he wasn't in love with her and didn't want to marry her and spend the rest of his life with her. In the midst of heartbreak and cancellations, Swink knew one thing: "A pity party was the farthest thing from what I wanted or needed." Instead, at the suggestion of several loving and supportive friends, Swink held a "trash the dress" party. Here's what happened next.
What do you think made Swink so resilient and positive after having her hopes and dreams dashed so suddenly? How would this change your ideas of love?
