I have such mixed feelings about this celeb split. Longtime spouses Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas are divorcing. Griffith was the one to file, citing irreconcilable differences and requesting spousal and child support, plus sole physical custody and joint legal custody of their daughter, Stella, who turns 18 in September. And by the way, that's how many yearsthese two were married. Eighteen years! They had reached legendary celeb couple status. Sources close to the couple say it's amicable, but still. Nearly two decades! Do we consider that a pretty good run, considering, or do we take this as another sign that enduring love is nearly impossible?
Ooh, option two is going to take me to a very dark place, so I think I'm going to go with one. I think making a Hollywood marriage last five years is a big accomplishment. Antonio, especially, has been very active in his career and has had plenty of opportunities to fool around. For all we know, they may have had a little flexibility in their marriage, if you know what I mean. But still, open or closed, 18 years is forever in celeb-world. So congratulations to those two for making it last as long as they did and ending it relatively scandal-free.

Oh wait, not scandal-free after all: Remember a couple years ago when supposedly Banderas was struggling to win back Griffith after rumors of cheating on her broke out? They must have tried to work through it. But I guess in the end, they couldn't repair the damage. Le sigh!
Well, you know what that means: I'm booking a plane ticket immediately to comfort Antonio. He must be feeling it right now, poor man. And I'm just the woman to help him through this trying time. Hello, rebound fling! At last, my longtime crush on Antonio Banderas will be fulfilled. I can't wait. What shall I pack? Oh yes, NOTHING!
This just in: There's a line of women outside Antonio Banderas' home. Apparently I was not the first person to think of this idea. Also: Planning a fling minutes after hearing news about a divorce is in very bad taste. Very bad taste indeed. Shame on me. How could I? Awful.
