Clik here to view.A young woman has died under mysterious circumstances, but police do not suspect foul play. Nursing student Abbrielle Marie Brynda was found bleeding in an alley after a party in Erie, Pennsylvania. A relative found her unresponsive in a walkway. Erie Police Chief Randy Bowers says, "When a young person is found under these circumstances, we have to treat it as a suspicious death. We don't have any reason to believe that foul play was involved, but we have more questions than answers."
Brynda was a student at Gannon University, where she was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. She attended a party on Friday night. Friends say she left at around 1:30 a.m. Her family had been searching for her through the night and did not find her body until 4:00 pm. She was rushed to the hospital immediately, but it was too late. She died at 9:00 that night.
Erie Police Sgt. Keith Kaschalk says, "We have evidence over there (in the alley) that suggests that, for some reason, she was bleeding. There is blood over there.'' It's an odd thing to say ... was there blood on Brynda, too?!? What were her wounds?
It could be that police suspect suicide but can't say until they have more information. Or Brynda could have fallen and hit her head, perhaps suffered from hypothermia. But a lot isn't adding up in this story. If I were Brynda's family, I'd be pressing to have these questions answered soon.
Meanwhile, friends of Brynda have set up a fundraising site in her honor at YouCaring.com.
What do you think happened to Abbie Brynda?
