Now this is a rare treat -- a celebrity congratulating the one who got away on his engagement to another woman! Yesterday Australian pop star Kylie Minogue congratulated Halle Berry and French actor Olivier Martinez on their engagement via Twitter: "Congrats to Olivier Martinez and Halle Berry! #Wedding"
Kylie dated for Oliver Martinez for four years -- practically a century in Celebrity Years. They broke up in 2007, but while they were together, Kylie says he was amazingly supportive of her through her struggle with cancer. "He was incredible," she said. "He didn't hesitate in canceling work and putting projects on hold so he could be with me. He's the most honorable man I have ever met." Wow, sounds like Halle nabbed one special man!
I mean, you don't hear very often about a man who was willing to sacrifice his film career to support his girlfriend! Last we heard of a guy willing to do that, it was none other than Brad Pitt, who trades off on film projects with Angelina Jolie.
In fact, Olivier was dubbed the "French Brad Pitt" when he appeared in The Horseman on the Roof back in 1995. Yeah ... never heard of it either. I guess it didn't take, but he's still obviously a hottie. And here's another interesting tidbit -- he played the other man in his more successful movie, Unfaithful. He was Diane Lane's boy toy. Mrow, I like a man who will play opposite an older woman! Halle and Olivier became (cough) acquainted while filming Dark Tide together.
Actually, Olivier and Halle are the same age -- both born in 1966. And they still haven't released an official announcement of their engagement. But if the ex is congratulating them, and a jewelry designer for Gurhan is saying Olivier gave Halle an emerald-and-diamond engagement ring, it sounds pretty darn likely, don't you think?
