spitfireIf it seems like LeAnn Rimes has been a hot mess ever since she hooked up with Eddie Cibrian, there's a very good reason for that: It's because SHE WAS. LeAnn is talking about the depression roller coaster she's been riding the past couple of years -- which, duh. We could definitely tell she was in crisis mode. But it's the details that surprised me.

"I was feeling all these crazy emotions and feeling terrible about myself and was disgusted by myself and thought I was pathetic." Wow, and we just thought it was all the bad press and judgment she got from the affair. Well, she says it was definitely that, too. But how about that -- messing with another woman's husband just made her feel like a loser.

She even wrote a song about it, called "Borrowed." Ouch. I can see how getting involved with a married man would make her feel shitty. It's like, she's a beautiful, successful woman. Why can't she attract someone who's available to give her his full self? Is she only worth half a man? And if Eddie's going to cheat with her, isn't he likely to cheat on her, too? And my God, did he really have to be the husband of a reality TV star? Sheesh, terrible choice. Poor LeAnn -- it all must have made her feel horribly insecure.

She says writing her new album, Spitfire, was kind of like intensive therapy for her. "I think I opened up the can of worms for myself by writing this record. There were a lot of things I didn't even realize I was feeling ... I needed to go somewhere and really process all of that stuff." Wow, good for LeAnn. Therapy is great, but exploring your feelings through your art can really ... eh, you know what? Who cares. I just want to hear the album for the gossipy scoop.

No! I take it back! Oh whatever. Either way, I want to hear LeAnn's side of the story, with all the dark, depressing, gory details. I think her confessions really humanize her. And I'm glad she's found her footing and is happier now.

Do you want to hear LeAnn's new album now that you know it's about her affair with Eddie?
