The way her story has been playing out, you'd think Khloe Kardashian was a 52-year-old on the verge of menopause desperately trying anything to get pregnant and eating herself alive with bitterness over her sisters' fertility. But chill everyone! Khloe is still a young woman and practically a newlywed. She has an important message for her fans in this month's Redbook. Khloe says: Quit asking about my fertility issues!
Okay, she was a little more polite about it:
Do I wish people would quit asking me about it 24/7? Yes, but I don't regret [talking about] it. I was 26 when that started, and I admit, I didn't know a lot about my body. It was hard for me to understand what was happening because my mom had six kids and Kourtney got pregnant quickly.
She says it's just that her hormones are "off" and she has to get treatments. And her hectic travel and work schedule keeps getting in the way of those treatments -- oh you know, it's complicated. She explains it in the interview. But the important thing is she just wants everyone to stop freaking out over it, because she's not freaking out over it.
She's actually happy that sharing her story is helping other women who are going through the same thing. As for her sisters, NO, she is not dying of envy of their babies. "Please. People want to assume that I'm devastated. I couldn't be happier. I actually got mad at Kourtney, because she was afraid to tell me at first. So I get why people think I'm hurt, because my own sister thought I would be." I totally get that -- if you really love your siblings, you're happy for whatever gifts life hands them, even if you've been denied those gifts yourself.
Of course she wants a baby. But she's 28 years old and she's been married for three years. There's no emergency here, folks. And she's definitely in touch with that. Even better, she's finding her Zen in the here and now. "I love my life, but it doesn't feel incomplete right now." And that is about the best mind frame you could possibly have when you're trying to have a baby, I think. Good for her!
Now if only everyone else would get off Khloe Baby Watch 2013. I'm sure the pressure she feels isn't helping at all. Maybe all she needs is a little time away from the spotlight.
Do you think the media scrutiny is making it harder for Khloe to get pregnant?
