Okay, maybe Kristen Stewart isn't THE most beautiful woman in the world. But KStew did make it on People's Most Beautiful list. Quite an accomplishment considering Kristen goes out of her way to look as unglamorous as possible in public. She's more likely to be seen skulking around in sneakers, jeans, and a hoodie than in chic designer sheaths or body-conscious "look at me I work out" gym clothes.
And I love what she says in her interview. The magazine asks about her awkward, introverted public persona. And she totally owns it! "I’m a naturally pretty shy person, which I’m cool with now. I used to think it was this affliction I had to overcome."
I wonder if trying to overcome her shyness is what led to Kristen's most awkward moments. Can you imagine? Forcing herself to be ... whatever, outgoing and witty and bubbly, just backfired. Trying NOT to be awkward just made her MORE awkward. It makes so much sense now.
You know that saying, "If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you." (It's from the Gnostic Gospels.) Not to get too philosophical here in a blog post about a celeb, but you dig? It's all about being your most authentic self. What could be more beautiful than that?
Anyway, I'm glad Kristen made peace with her shy personality, although I'm going to miss those hilarious cringe-inducing awkward interviews. All that nodding that looks like ducking, the snapping and pointing, the weird "heh heh heh" muttered chuckles to herself. I actually think it's refreshing to see a celeb who isn't perfectly polished all the time.
