I'm so excited about my favorite PBS series, Downton Abbey, going stateside! No, I don't mean Season 3 finally airing in January -- though I'm dying over that, too. I mean the plans for an NBC series by Downton creator Julian Fellows -- The Gilded Age. Daaahling, it will be simply sensational, I'm sure! Now of course it's not going to just be Downton USA. Gilded will take place in the 1880s, not the early 20th century. But I can't help fantasizing about the cast -- and who the American counterparts might be if Fellows uses his UK cast as inspiration. Might there be a grand old dame? A handsome young bachelor? A rebellious daughter? Dear Julian, I DO hope you'll consult me for your casting. Here's a few ideas to get you started!![]()
